About Nano DSF (Differential Scanning Fluorimetry)

Welcome to the forefront of biophysical analysis at HTL Biosolutions, In. Our nano Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF) services are meticulously designed to meet the unique demands of biotechnology, offering precise insights into protein stability, ligand interactions, and structural changes.

Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF) is a biophysical technique used to study the stability of proteins and can be used to study a protein's interaction with ligands. Here's how DSF works:

  1. Protein Intrinsic Fluorescence: Many proteins naturally possess intrinsic fluorescence, typically due to the presence of aromatic side chains like tryptophan and tyrosine. These amino acids can emit fluorescence when exposed to specific wavelengths of light.

  2. Thermal Denaturation: The sample is subject to a controlled temperature increase. With rising temperature, the protein undergoes thermal denaturation, causing structural and intrinsic fluorescence changes (and often changes in light scattering intensity).

  3. Fluorescence and Light Scattering Measurements: The instrument records changes in the protein's intrinsic fluorescence and light scattering intensity as it unfolds.

  4. Melting Temperature (Tm): The connection between changes in fluorescence intensity and temperature is used to determine the apparent melting temperature (Tm).

Benefits and Applications of DSF

  1. Biophysical Characterization: Gain a deeper understanding of protein stability and folding

  2. Formulation development: Thermal stability screening of protein

  3. Rapid Analysis: Nano DSF allows the analysis of multiple samples concurrently and with less time requirement when compared with DSC. This can allow for high throughput screening of samples

  4. Low sample requirement: Nano DSF requires much less sample to test
